The story behind ENGLISH EMPORIUM

Based in the historic town of Warwick, Warwickshire, we are at the heart of England where we continually supply clients across the country and Europe with treasures for the home.

With furnishings and home décor our main focus, we have discerning clients that we help by sourcing and creating unusual pieces to fit their interiors. Whether it's finding that particular mirror for a living room, an unusual dining set, or being commissioned through our hand-painted furniture service, we aim to provide a pleasurable buying experience and of course an item you will treasure.

We at English Emporium have a real passion for design, interiors and antiques, we never stop the search for treasures for the home. Continuing the English tradition of collecting we have built up and continue to build up an eclectic mix of items.

We like to think that our customers care about their surroundings as much as they care about their clothes and how they look.

It’s an English lifestyle.

The English look is a contemporary mix of old and new, things from travels abroad, memories of people dear, different textures, colours and centuries put together in an interesting way so they work and provide a peaceful and inspiring background for today’s busy life.

... for a less than ordinary lifestyle.

Barry Chadwick, founder

From an early age, I began my interest in collecting and a love of design, interiors, art and antiques. Born on the Lancashire coast, my childhood was mainly spent on the beach at the tides edge sifting through piles of seaweed and driftwood in search of treasure.

I can clearly recall half a boat coming ashore after one stormy night a real treat as with pals we played for hours as pirates.

Remembering as a young child digging around in the garden for hidden treasure and finding broken bits of blue and white ceramics and old bones which I thought were prehistoric, but on reflection today probably just ones the dog had buried.

Moving on and growing up, the treasure hunting never stopped but moved aside so I could develop my artistic talents to design for graphics. Now some 25 years on and with a wealth of knowledge gained from working with some inspirational English and International companies, I have now been able to devote my time and passion to create English Emporium.

A passion for interiors and a keen interest in design inspired me to create English Emporium to bring together all the fabulous bits and pieces we're encountering in our life and treasure hunts.

We hope you love them as much as we do and that English Emporium will inspire you to love the space you're in and create your own English style home.
