RARE VINTAGE JANTZEN GIRL SWIMSUIT STORE DISPLAY FIGURE, 1950's
Rare Vintage Girl Swimsuit store displayTall and curvy "Jantzen Girl" display mannequin used to showcase the form-fitting Jantzen women's swimwear of the late 1940's and early 1950's.
From what we have researched this was used as an advertising store fixture found in the women's swimwear section of department stores.
A rare item - how many could have survived?
This example wears what we believe is its original painted surface featuring a red one-piece form-fitting suit.
She appears to be made of some kind of resin.
Condition overall is vintage and some paintwork has come away (please see images).
We have seen only a couple of identical figures in the USA, sometimes with "Jantzen" script and logos in different coloured suits.
This example bears no markings.
A great example of the pin-up idealism prevalent during the period and how clothing was marketed during this post-war era.SIZESHeight 89cm, Width 25cm, Depth 22cm.FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK @englishemporium, INSTAGRAM @english.emporium and TWITTER @EnglishEmporium
